There are 24 total teams, split into 3 brackets. Each team in each bracket will play 7 matches. There is a two-week deadline for each of your 7 matches (note dates in red on schedule above), although future matches can be played in advance. If a match is not completed by its deadline, both teams may be subject to penalties. Team captains are fully responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and executing their matches. Contact information for all team captains has been sent in a previous email from Jackson Wahl dated August 28. If you are a team captain, please initiate contact with your team's opponent (listed below) as soon as possible to get a match-date on the calendar. Once you have a planned date for your match, both team captains need to confirm the date and location by email (not phone) to Jackson Wahl (jackson.wahl.1999@gmail.com). The SPBC location is available during and after usual open hours. Kimberly and Jackson will ensure that a director will be on call for your match. The SPBC is available to loan boards to be shuffled upon request. Pre-dealt boards with hand records are only available if a match is played at the SPBC location for security purposes. Once your match has been completed, both team captains need to confirm the net IMPs score and the players that played for them by email to Jackson (even if a team has only four members, he needs to know that there were no substitutes used). Please note that each team member must play at least three full matches to qualify for overall masterpoint awards. If a substitute player is needed, Kimberly may be available to help find one for you. This competition uses a modified 30-point VP scale listed on the SPBC website. Matches will be played in two equal segments (with a comparison in between), 28-boards for the top bracketed players and 24-boards for the other two brakcket. Each team receives seating rights for one segment, decided by coin flip. If no rights have been discussed by halftime, a coinflip will determine who has seating rights for the second half.
